The Ontario Drug Benefit Plan (ODBP) for retired federal public servants only, age 65 and over.
The fight is over!
The Ontario Government reversed plans for the PSHCP, thanks to all of you who participated in this protest activity.
On Friday December 8th Premier Dalton McGuinty announced that the Ontario Government will not implement a proposal that would have made the Ontario Drug Benefit Plan the second payer for federal pensioners who are members of the Public Service Health Care Plan (PSHCP).
The Premier made the public statement as he was participating in a phone-in interview during "CTV News at Noon" broadcast by CJOH. He had advised FSNA's National President, Dennis Jackson, of the Government's decision during a telephone conversation the previous day.
The National President and the Ottawa Branch President and Board of Directors extend their thanks to all branches and individual members of the Association who joined in the protest against the Ontario proposal. Through joint effort, FSNA was successful in presenting its arguments and in achieving a reversal of the proposal.
