Outside Canada/Province CoverageA number of significant changes have been made in 2006 to the coverage provided by MEDOC and the PSHCP. OHIP pays for some medical costs (physician, hospital) incurred out of province or Canada, but the amounts are relatively small. PSHCP coverage is more generous (follow this link for more information). Many members also purchase additional coverage, particularly when traveling in the US, from FSNA MEDOC. The administrator of the plan is Johnson Inc ., with Royal & Sun as the Insurer, and Assured Assistance as the travel assist provider (see below). Please note that you can download the public service FSNA/Medoc application form only through the FSNA websites. If you travel extensively you are encouraged to subscribe to MEDOC. The MEDOC Plan
supplements both the OHIP coverage and the PSHCP Travel Benefit for emergency
treatment while abroad. It also
provides Trip Cancellation/Interruption
and Delay coverage. There are
three premium levels, based on a number of factors such as pre-existing
conditions. A MEDOC policy is valid for travel during the entire year.
Please note: MEDOC is available ONLY to FSNA members! |
